The Research Promotion Policy


The research policy of Sourashtra College (Autonomous) aims to create and support a research culture among the faculty members, research scholars and students. It enhances the professional competence of the researchers in their research area. It also tries to realise the vision and mission of the college and for contributing to national development by providing the required resources and appropriate facilities..

The research activities of the college may bound with all applicable rules and regulation as well as the established standards and norms relating to conduct of research at college and University level..

The college has a Research and Development Cell (RDC) headed by a Director and Dean for Research. They will jointly monitor and update the availability of research facilities and encourage teachers and scholars to organize seminars, conferences, workshops and publication of articles in a reputed journals.

Intellectual Property Rights Cell (IPRC) motivates researchers to get patent rights for their new scientific and technical advancements in the form of innovations.

Seed money is provided by Sourashtra College Management Council to encourage the faculty members for Minor Research Projects.

    Research and Development Cell

    Objectives

    The Research and Development Cell comprises of faculty members from various departments of our college. This committee oversees the smooth and efficient co-ordination of research and development activities in the Institution, thus fostering overall growth. The members will contribute towards enhancing research and development at Sourashtra College the term 'researchers' as follows

    Roles and Responsibilities

  • To encourage the faculty members and research scholars to get financial assistance from Government / Non-Government organization
  • To advice on thrust areas and disciplines for introducing research programmes and related activities for future development in research.
  • To motivate the faculty members to register and start their research work.
  • To create zeal amongst faculty members towards research and innovation.
  • To guide the research scholar to develop the study design and methodology of research.
  • To review the research proposal and finalize the topic of research.
  • To periodically review and assist in the progress of the research work.
  • To check malpractices and plagiarism in Research by Ethics committee.
  • To provide policy guidelines and direction for the growth and development of research activities.
  • To suggest infrastructural facilities both for academic and sponsored research to enhance the research ambiance.
  • To establish collaboration with other institutions, universities, public and private sectors.
  • To identify Research and Development projects including consultancy services which could be undertaken at the institution.
