Department of Business Administration

B.B.A (Bachelor of Business Administration) (Aided course)

The department started offering UG programme (BBA) since 1972 under Government Aided Stream. It launched MBA programme in 1994 under Self-financing stream with the approval of AICTE.
It has steadily developed into a research department offering M.Phil in Management studies at present. It has facilitated several students to emerge as successful entrepreneurs, efficient managers and independent professionals. Most of our students suit to the present industrial requirements. The curriculum is designed to meet the requirements of the corporate. The department serves the students community with experienced faculty members and a very good infrastructure. There is a collection of books in the department library.

Objectives

Upon successful completion of the B.B.A., course, the students will be able to:
• Join as middle managers in corporate.
• Equip them to handle all managerial functions
• Expose to Entrepreneurial ability.

Eligibility for Admission

Candidate should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination with 10+2 pattern conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Education,
Government of Tamil Nadu or any other examinations accepted by the Syndicate as equivalent thereto and the candidate shall have studied any group in 10 + 2 pattern.

Duration of the Course

The duration of the course shall be three academic years comprising six semesters with two semesters in each academic year.

Zero Credits Paper


In order to provide the placement assistance to our students, two papers with zero credits are introduced in the final year for all UG Programmes.
In the V semester, a paper titled “SOFT SKILLS” is introduced. This paper provides exposure to the UG final year students on various skills. It also enhances the employability of the students and trains them for the corporate sectors
In the VI semester, a paper titled “GENERAL KNOWLEDGE” is introduced. The paper makes the students aware of current affairs and basic GK. It equips them for facing competitive examinations and further exposes them to the computer based examinations.
