Department of Corporate Secretaryship

Programme Offered:B.Com (Corporate Secretaryship) (Aided Course)

The B.com (corporate secretaryship) major programme was started in 1984. The department’s unique feature is that it is the first department which stared admitted girl students in 1984 itself. Thus it is the pioneer department to introduce co-education. The department has been producing exemplary results right from its inception. The department is constantly concentrating on the overall development of students. So far 31 batches of students have successfully completed their graduation. Many students have joined prestigious institutions like Alagappa university, Madurai Kamaraj university for their higher studies. Our students have been well placed in public and private sectors. The course is designed to lay foundation for ACS for the aspiring students. Many papers are law oriented and accounts oriented.

Objectives

  • To impart basic knowledge about the functioning of a company and the functions and duties of a Company Secretary.
  • To train the students to face the problems in the interview with corporate

Eligibility for Admission

Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary Examinations of the Government of Tamilnadu with Commerce, Accountancy and Economics as subjects.

Duration of the Course

The duration of the course shall be three academic years comprising six semesters with two semesters in each academic year.
